L.A. Dreams: Solo Female Traveler's Weekend Itinerary for a Memorable Getaway

Arrival and First Impressions

I arrived in LA with excitement and a touch of apprehension. The city is massive, and I relied on Uber and buses to get around, with the added bonus of having a local friend who made navigation a breeze.

Dinner at Pink Taco: My birthday kicked off with a delicious dinner at Pink Taco on Sunset Blvd, a lively spot with great food and vibes.

Accommodation: I stayed at the Best Western Hotel on Sunset Blvd, a comfortable and convenient choice. When staying at Best Western, sign up for rewards and utilize Rakuten for discounts and cashback.

Travel Tip: Be cautious with LA's bus system, especially when heading from the airport. Check your bus carefully to avoid taking the wrong route. I learned this the hard way and had to Uber to my hotel.

Exploring the Getty and Griffith Observatory

Getty Museum: I recommend visiting the Getty Museum early to allow ample time for exploring the Griffith Observatory at night. Unfortunately, I couldn't secure an Uber to get there, so planning is crucial.

Travel Tip: Underestimate the time you need for activities in LA, so plan accordingly. Bring essentials like water, sunglasses, and comfortable shoes.

Nightlife and Safety

Nightlife Spots: For solo female travelers looking to party, Nightingales and the Classic Cat are excellent options. Dress code varies, with the Classic Cat being more upscale and Nightingales embracing a less formal atmosphere.

Travel Tip: Gas and parking can be expensive in LA, so consider alternative transportation options. Always be cautious and assertive if someone asks about your companions, and don't hesitate to redirect or protect your privacy.

Santa Monica and Ocean Views

Venice Beach: A visit to Santa Monica offers stunning ocean views and a taste of the iconic Route 66. Be prepared for the heat and bring extra cash for various activities.

Travel Tip: Driving in LA can be costly due to gas and parking fees, making alternatives like Uber a viable choice.

In conclusion, my solo birthday adventure in LA was a mix of exploration, partying, and valuable insights into solo female travel. I hope this itinerary and these tips help guide your own LA journey, whether you're solo or with friends. Stay blessed, and keep an eye out for my LA video coming soon!
